1.       One router with WIFI connection for the 2 laptops and 3 Mobil phones, because it’s not comfortable to connect the laptops and phones all the times to a cable. One network cable for the desktop, to make it faster than WIFI, and it also don’t need to be moved.

2.       Firewall because it blocks connections you don’t want to pass to your computer, it protects you whole computer and LAN from hackers out on the internet; you would place a firewall between the LAN and the internet connection.  Parental controls for kids because it could appear some pages or information inadequate in their computers and they can affect kids.

5. The type of topology will be Star Network, because you need all the computers to be connected to a central device. The center will be his router, because it’s better.  It’s better because you don’t use cables.
